Easter Bunny Basket - For More Eggs

For those who want a slightly larger Easter basket to hunt for more eggs, I have adjusted the pattern to make a 14 x 17 cm basket
It follows the same basic pattern as the smaller one, but does need some decreases at the end to make a nice rounded shape
The pattern is written in UK terminology
The basket is worked in the round with a slip stitch connecting each round
The chain and slip stitches don't count as stitches throughout the pattern, so do not work into them
I suggest using a stitch marker in the slip stitch to keep track of your rounds

YOU WILL NEED:
1 skein of Hoooked Ribbon XL Solids in Caramel Brown and Iced Apricot or other super chunky yarn/ribbon/T-shirt yarn (finished size may vary)
Scrap yarn for eyes, nose, mouth and pompom tail
10 mm crochet hook
scissors and tapestry needle

ABBREVIATIONS
ch chain
st stitch
ss slip stitch
dc double crochet (single crochet in American terminology)
tr treble (double crochet in American terminology)
dec invisible decrease: insert hook into front loop of first st, then into front loop of the next st so you have 3 loops on your hook, yarn over, pull yarn through two loops, yarn over, pull through the remaining loop

EARS/BASKET HANDLE
make two, with the Iced Apricot ribbon
chain 30
Round 1: tr in 3rd ch from the hook, tr till end of row (28)
Fasten off leaving a longer tail

BASKET
with the Caramel Brown ribbon
chain 10
round 1: 1dc in 2nd chain from the hook, 7 dc, 3dc in last ch. Continue on the other side of the chain: 7 dc, 2 dc in last st, ss in 1st dc (20)
round 2: 1 ch, 2 dc in the same st, 8 dc, 2 dc in the next dc, 2 dc in the next dc, 8 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ss (24)
round 3: 1 ch,  2 dc in same st, 10 dc, 2 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, 10 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ss (28)
round 4: 1 ch,  2dc in same st, 12 dc, 2 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, 12 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ss (32)
round 5 – 11: 1 ch, dc in each dc around, ss (32)
round 12: 1 ch, dec, 14 dc, dec, 14 dc, ss (30)
round 13: 1 ch, dec, 13 dc, dec, 12 dc, do not work last dc, no ss (27)
DO NOT FASTEN OFF

ATTACHING THE EARS

With the basket still on your hook, *1 dc in the bottom loop of the 1st tr on the pink part (right side facing), 27 dc in the bottoms of the trebles, 3 dc in the 2 ch gap at the top, 28 dc in the tops of the trebles, skip 2 dc on the basket (note: ss doesn't count as 1 st), 1 dc in the next dc to attach the ear, 11 dc*, repeat * to * for the other ear, ss into 1st dc
Fasten off

FINISHING
Sew up the gap under your pink ear parts using the long end. I sewed into the 2 unworked dc's on the basket.
Tie the two ears together to form a bow and sew in the remaining ends
Sew on eyes, nose, mouth, whiskers... or leave plain, and attach a pompom to the back for a tail.
This part is really up to you.
